Vancouver awaits

On the lower right side of this site, I put a countdown widget for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The games will be from February 12 until 28 in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. Though it might not excite for some especially if their country does not participate in that event. As we know, the summer Olympics is more popular than the winter games.

Next year’s host city Vancouver has already done enough preparation for this event. Vancouver was chosen back in 2003 over the cities of PyongChang in South Korea and Salzburg in Austria. It will be the third time that the Olympic games will be held in Canada after the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.

The number of participating countries expected is more or less eighty. Of these, Cayman Islands, Ghana, Bahamas, Gabon, Malta will make their first appearance.
