Bethune Tanquingcen or more popularly known as Siot Tanquingcen is one of my favorite active coaches in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). His preparedness coming into the games as well as his passion to be the best he can be are just two of the traits I like from him.

China’s injured star Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets donated $100,000 through his foundation to help rebuild the four playgrounds in Houston that had been destroyed by the hurricane. It was announced at the same time his foundation will have a charity gala with the Museum of Fine Arts early next year.

Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams will play an exhibition match in the Centennial Invitation in Hua Hin seaside resort in Thailand on January 2, 2010. Both Sharapova and Williams are warming up for the upcoming opening grand slam of the season, the Australian Open which will begin on January 18, 2010.

NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been undergoing treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia. He was diagnosed to have such an illness back in December of last year. He told the media last Monday, November 9 that his doctor did not give him guarantees but was optimistic with his condition.
