Portland Trail Balazers’ Center Greg Oden injured his left knee and was taken on a stretcher from the court in their game against Houston Rockets. The 7’0 2007 Draft 1^st pick overall dropped to the floor after collision with Rockets’ Aaron Brooks in the first quarter of the game. Oden will likely miss the entire season after averaging 11.7 and 8.8 rebounds so far.

Chinese Forward Yi Jianlian is expected to join his team the New Jersey Nets next week. Yi has been practicing with the Nets since December 3. He has missed most of the games this season because of a sprained right knee he sustained while playing against Charlotte Bobcats last November 2.

Allen Iverson who has been reacquired by his former team Philadelphia 76ers has not been named yet to its starting lineup in the team’s next game. Philadelphia will play at home against Denver Nuggets on December 7. Coach Eddie Jordan has yet to reveal whether he’ll let Iverson start or come off the bench.

New Jersey Nets finally ended their losing streak at 18 games to start the season with a 97-91 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. The Nets already set an NBA record for worst start in history with their loss against the Dallas Mavericks while playing at home last December 2.

The New Jersey Nets matched NBA worst starts with the 1989 Miami Heat and the 1999 LA Clippers with a 0-17 record. The Nets played their first game with out Lawrence Frank who was fired by the team a few hours earlier after starting the season at 0-16. The team may break into the worst record in NBA history on December 2 when they play at home against Dallas Mavericks.

Coach Lawrence Frank of the New Jersey Nets was fired from the team as head coach after the Nets suffered its 16^th straight defeat. Frank is the Nets all-time winningest coach at 225 games won. Assistant Tom Barisse has been named to temporarily handle the coaching duties for the Nets.

New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson is considering to defend his slam dunk title if and only if, LeBron James joins the competition in the next year’s All-Star Weekend. Robinson thought of relinquishing his crown until the idea that James joins the contest next year. LeBron James has not joined yet the slam dunk competition in his NBA career.

Allen Iverson and top officials of the Philadelphia 76ers met to discuss the possibility of Iverson returning to the team. Iverson was drafted 1^st overall by Philadelphia in the 1996 NBA Rookie Draft and played at least ten seasons with the Sixers until he was traded to Denver Nuggets in December 2006. Both parties remain noncommittal but the talks are reportedly going on in a positive note.

Amare Stoudemaire of the Phoenix Suns and Tyson Chandler of the Charlotte Bobcats were both fined by the NBA for $7,500 eaech for posting in their Twitter accounts during games. Beginning this season, the NBA has made a ruling about the usage of the social media which prohibits the players for updating their accounts during games.

Allen Iverson and Memphis Grizzlies mutually agreed to part ways. Iverson played just three games before taking a leave of absence last November 7 to attend to personal matters. The Memphis Grizzlies are willing to trade the former league MVP or settle his one-year contract in any other means as acceptable by both parties. Iverson has publicly shown his frustration playing for the team in a rebuilding process and with limited playing time.

Stephen Jackson of the Golden State Warriors finally got his wish to leave the team. The Warriors sent Jackson together with guard Acie Law to Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic.

C.J. Watson of the Golden State Warriors was tested positive for H1N1 Virus. The 6-2 point guard out of Tennessee will be out indefinitely and has been treated accordingly by the team.

Kobe Bryant achieved another milestone in his career as he reached the 24,000 points plateau by scoring 41 points in LA Lakers game against Memphis Grizzlies last Friday, November 6. Bryant became the youngest NBA player to reach such feat and overtook Allen Iverson on the 16^th place on the NBA all-time scoring list.

Allen Iverson continues to make his frustrations public. He has been disappointed with his new team Memphis Grizzlies because of limited playing time and reserve role.

New Jersey Nets Forward Chris Douglas-Roberts was confirmed to have been infected with H1N1 Virus. Douglas-Roberts will be out indefinitely as he has been treated accordingly. The team likewise has adopted all the precautionary measures.

Forward Tyrus Thomas of the Chicago Bulls will be out for four to six weeks after undergoing surgery by team physicians . He suffered a fractured radius of his left forearm in their weight training sessions last Friday, November 6.

New Orleans Hornets team owner George Shinn was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Shinn has been the owner of the club originally at Charlotte back in 1988 then transferred to New Orleans in 2002.
