Star Snippets: Chen Hsin-an, Kim Seung-hyun, Johnny Abarrientos and more

Unconfirmed reports circulating that Taiwan’s star forward Chen Hsin-an is signing with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). This followed as two other Taiwanese Hsu-Hao Cheng and Lin Kwan-lun recently inked contracts with Shanxi Zhongyu.

Daegu Orions playmaker Kim Seung-hyun suspension was reduced from eighteen games to nine by the Korean Basketball League (KBL).  Kim was suspended earlier because he reportedly had double contract with his team.

Shigeyuki Kinjo of Ryuku Golden Kings was recently named Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week in Japan’s Bj League. He led the team in scoring through six games this season by averaging 18.5 per game.

Johnny Abarrientos displayed some old form of brilliance as he came out of semi-retirement last Fri, November 6 to lead Ginebra Gin King’s win over the Barako Bull in the Phiilippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was reactivated from the reseve list following the injuries of Jayjay Helterbrand and Mark Caguioa.

South Korea’s Choo Sin-soo of the Cleveland Indians expressed his desire to stay with his team in the MLB on the long-term. He held a press conference upon his retun to his native country last Tuesday, November 3. He also hopes to be part of the National Team that will play in the next year’s Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
