Legendary promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is currently in Manila to discuss crucial issues concerning Manny Pacquiao’s proposed fight against Floyd Mayweather, Jr. next year. It was reported that both the promotional outfits of the two superstars Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions agreed in principle the terms of the much anticipated bout. Part of the deal is a news blackout on the negotiations until the agreement is finally sealed.

Tetsuya Yamaguchi came to terms with his team Yomiuri Giants and signed a Y100 million annual salary contract. The 2008 Central League Rookie of the Year of the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) did the most this past season pitching a team-high 73 games, going 9-1 and 1.27 ERA.

Aquilino Lopez of the Dominican Republic agrees to re-sign with the Kia Tigers in the Korea Baseball Organization. The 34-year old right-handed pitcher is set to receive $300,000 in annual salary for his team based in Gwangju. The deal has been finally sealed before the team is scheduled to hold its training camp in Japan or Guam by January.

Roberto Carlos of Brazil has agreed to play for the Brazilian club Corinthians next year. Carlos who is currently playing for Fenerbahce in Turkey struck out a 2-year deal with Corinthians joining World Cup teammate Ronaldo in Brazil’s second most poplar club. Carlos and Ronaldo have been together for the national team for three World Cups (1998, 2002 and 2006).

Pro wrestler Hulk Hogan and his 26-year old girlfriend Jennifer McDaniel have been engaged. Hogan, Terry Bollea in real life is 56 years old and is currently signed with TNA Wrestling. Hogan was first married to Linda Bollea for 25 years but the two filed for divorce in 2008.
