Interim WBA Super Flyweight Champion Nonito Donaire, Jr., leads 4 other Filipinos this weekend in the ‘Pinoy Power 3’ in Las Vegas, Nevada. Donaire is set to face Gerson Guerrero of Mexico who many consider the last stumbling block for the anticipated rematch of Donaire with Armenian Vic Darchinyan. Donaire – Darchinyan II negotiations have been ongoing between the two camps even before Donaire takes on Guerrero on Sat.

Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes shares the same honors with Manny Pacquiao from a prestigious media organization in the United States. While Pacquiao was named ‘Fighter of the Decade’ by the Boxing Writer’s Associaiton of America (BWAA), Reyes has been honored as ‘Player of the Decade’ by the United States Billiard Media Association (USBMA) recently.

Ronato ‘Ronnie’ Alcano and the rest of Team Pilipinas settled for the runner-up finish in the World Team Pool Cup Championship in Hannover, Germany. Great Britain grabbed the title in the prestigious tournament scoring 4-1. Alcano was joined by Dennis Orcullo, Marlon Manalo, Lee Vann Corteza, Warren Kiamco and Antonio Lining in the star- laden Team Pilipinas.
