NBA Tidbits: Don Nelson, Shaquille O’Neal, Tracy McGrady …..

Coach Don Nelson of the Golden State Warriors was diagnosed to have a pneumonia.  The second-winningest coach in NBA history is expected to miss two road games in Dallas and San Antonio early this week. Nelson’s health status will be re-evauated by weekend to determine if he’s fit to coach the Warriors by then.

Center Shaquille O’Neal is back in practice with the Cleveland Cavaliers after suffering a shoulder injury last November 12. O’Neal is hoping he will be healthy enough to play against Detroit on Wednesday.

Forward Tracy McGrady of the Houston Rockets has also resumed practicing with the team though he has yet to receive a signal as to when to play again. McGrady underwent a microfracture surgery in his left knee last February. It was his first time to join the team in practice after that long lay-off.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant share the same honors in their respective conference for the Player of the Week November 16 through 22. James lead the Cavs in a 3-1 record in the week averaging 34.3 points on a 58.3 shooting percentage. Bryant, meanwhile, lead the Lakers to a pefect 3-0 for that week with an 29.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists.
