Pacquiao on TIME cover

Manny Pacquiao appears on TIME magazine’s cover in its issue that will hit the stands this coming week.  He is one of the few Filipinos to be on its cover after former President  Cory  Aquino, Gloria Arroyo and Chin-chin Gutierrez .  Never in Manny’s wildest dreams that he would have all these accolades.The magazine’s front page is usually reserved for Popes, head of states, Nobel Prize awardees and individuals who have great impact in shaping history.

Manny Pacquiao shares the same honor as well with fellow boxers Jack Dempsey (1923), James Tunney (1929), Max Schmeling (1931), Primo Carnera (1941), Joe Loous (1951), Sugar Ray Robinson (1963), Cassius Clay (1971), Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali (1978) and Mike Tyson (1988) to appear on TIME magazine’s cover.
