Sonsona too soon for the championship

For weeks, I have been checking out with the developments of the upcoming Sonsona – Lopez fight in Ontario, Canada on September 4.  Filipino Marvin Sonsona, a promising young prospect from Gen. Santos City will challenge Jose Lopez of Puerto Rico for the WBO super flyweight title. Sonsona is currently the WBO Oriental flyweight champion.

Selling like hotcakes

The much anticipated battle between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto overexcites everybody.  Tickets are almost sold out on its first day in the market as reported.  Philboxing.com claimed that all of the 9,000 tickets priced at $150, $350 and $500 were all sold out right on the opening day. Only those priced at $750 and [...]

I’d like to commend Coach Joseller Guiao or more known as Yeng Guiao for his [...]

The loss pushed the RP 5 with an early quarterfinal showdown with Jordan considering the probable outcomes of the games among the quarterfinalists.  The good thing, however, is the fact that the Filipinos will end this tournament [...]

It feels so good knowing that Powerade Team Pilipinas has won its first two assignments in the much anticipated FIBA-Asia Championship in Tianjin, China.
In the first game last August 6, RP 5 took every opportunity to build a huge margin of 84 points in the 115-31 victory over Sri Lanka.  The Philippine team tries to [...]

One of my most favorite sporting events every year is the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.  For this year, it will be held beginning August 31 until September 13.  One highlight for this event is the anticipated comeback of former champion in the women’s singles Kim Clijsters. Besides, it will be another opportunity for [...]
